Install Docable into a sandbox

Last updated 25 October 2026.

By the end Docable is installed in a sandbox and its app opens on the Get Started tab. This guide is for Salesforce administrators.

Docable installs as a Salesforce managed package. You install it into a sandbox first, make and approve your first templates there, then install the same package into production. Every sandbox of your production org is included in the subscription: see Pricing.

Before you start

  • You are a Salesforce administrator in the sandbox.
  • You have worked through the checklist.

Steps

  1. Ask for the install link at [email protected] and say which sandbox you want. The link is sent to you, not published.

  2. Sign in to the sandbox as an administrator.

  3. Open the install link.

  4. Choose Install for Admins Only.

  5. Choose Install and wait for Salesforce to confirm the install.

  6. Open the App Launcher and choose Docable.

The install switches on nothing optional. AI, Claude and storage destinations are each set up separately.

Example

A team making the ForgeFlow quotation installs into one sandbox. The administrator keeps Install for Admins Only, then assigns the permission sets on the next page.

Check it worked

The Docable app opens with these tabs: Get Started, Templates, Output Proofs, Brand Kits, Document Number Series, Generation Runs and Docable Setup.

If it doesn’t work

What you see What to do
Salesforce says you cannot install packages. Sign in as a system administrator in the sandbox you named, then open the link again.
The Docable app is missing from the App Launcher. Give the person Docable Definition Author or Docable Lifecycle Reviewer. Either set shows the app.
